TAXOS ACTIVE selected for implementation in Life-Photoscaling Project.

Although some photocatalytic materials (PHMS) have already been implemented in some cities, we still find a lack of tools that solve the problem comprehensively and objectively. We need tolls that allow to evaluate the technical, social, economic and environmental effects of the application of this technology on a massive scale.

The European project LIFE13ENV / ES / 001,221, PHOTOSCALING LIFE, aims to demonstrate the viability of photocatalytic technology to reduce air pollution in cities.

The project is addressed through the construction of two demonstration platforms, as a pilot plant, in two different places within the Community of Madrid, where different photocatalytic materials are tested in simulated real conditions and the results are used to develop the tools of evaluation and validation of them.

In this context, the Madrid City Council through a public open-call invites all photocatalytic materials manufacturers who wish to present proposals to include their materials in the test program of the project.

Taxos Active, a ceramic model of Matimex, from Fiandre Iris Ceramica Gruppo has been selected for its implementation in the Life-Photoscaling Project. Shortly this material will be placed on the platforms to proceed to the analysis and measurement of its photocatalytic activity.
