CERAMICS: NEVERENDING ARTWORKS EXHIBITION AT IRIS CERAMICA GROUP'S MILAN FLAGSHIP STORE

Iris Ceramica Group, in collaboration with Galleria Antonia Jannone Disegni di Architettura, presents “Ceramics: Neverending Artworks” at the Milan flagship store of the group. The exhibition tells the aesthetic, artistic and manufacturing dimension of ceramics through twenty-three selected works, created by important artists and designers.

From January 10 to February 18, from Monday to Friday, the Milan flagship store will be open to the public, by appointment and with regulated access in accordance with current anti-Covid19 regulations, with the exhibition "Ceramics: Neverending Artworks" narrating the aesthetic, artistic and manufacturing dimension of ceramics, enhancing the material, distorting its aesthetics and giving it new meanings to shape objects that become metaphors for a vision and thought that range from art to design. On display are 23 ceramic works, created by twelve artists and selected by the Iris Ceramica Group, each of which exalts its constituent materials, inverting their aesthetics to give them new meanings. The works of art on display are by the artists: Aldo Cibic, Alessandro Mendini, Andrea Branzi, Ettore Sottsass, George Sowden, Luigi Serafini, Marco Zanini, Martine Bedin, Matteo Thun, Michele de Lucchi, Nathalie Du Pasquier, Peter Shire.

The objects are not an end in themselves, but the exaltation of the matter that makes them up, witnesses and examples of a constant search for beauty and uniqueness, which attract the attention of visitors and invite them to participate. They are metaphors of a vision and a thought, created by authors who, with a bold and sometimes irreverent spirit, challenge modernity. Distributed in the spaces of the flagship store, the works stand out on the ceramic surfaces produced by the different brands of the Group. Like the works on display, Iris Ceramica Group 's surfaces for architecture enhance the aesthetic and technical properties of ceramics, by overcoming habits, with the awareness that technical challenges arise from new design needs. and, as a result, new possibilities that were previously unimaginable are opened up.
